Welcome to Game Raptor, an independent video game review blog! We are a team of one avid video game player, and I have over the past few years developed a passion for playing video games new and old. Here I will share my thoughts on my playthroughs of video games. Whether I review a modern game, a classic, a hidden gem, or a lesser-known title, I am willing to give my honest opinion on all facets of the game. Hopefully I can inspire you to enjoy video games as much as I do.
To start, I want to share some about myself. I grew up with a range of consoles in my family home, including the PS2, PS3, NES, N64, GBA, DS, and a computer able to play computer release classics of the 1990s and early 2000s. With this range of consoles, I grew up around a wide variety of releases and genres. My brothers were always eager to share and play games with me, discuss secrets and cheat codes, and be spectators to my young, badly coordinated gameplay. My father and mother would also join in on gaming, playing Tekken II, Super C, Ultimate Alliance, etc. with us. Gaming has, to me, always been a meaningful bonding activity I shared with my family throughout my childhood. I am thankful for these memories, and I would like to share games with you all in the same way that I was shared to in my adolescence.
I also cannot forget the impact my close friends have had, and in recent years, they were the ones that encouraged me to begin this blog. I was in college one night, and I video-called a friend of mine. We decided that, to better understand gaming as a medium of art and to fulfill our passion for gaming, we should seek out a list of the best games of all time. We both scoured gaming articles from major journalist companies and composed separate lists. I began playing the games in my list, and…I was hooked. I played Doom, Super Metroid, Silent Hill 2, Super Mario Bros. 2, Parappa, Psychonauts, Spyro, Zelda, Cuphead, Celeste, Dark Souls, Bayonetta. I just could not get enough, and I told everyone I knew about the aspects of these games that made them otherworldly experiences. Some listened.
So, here I am. I am writing a blog-for the world to read-about video games.
